My Blog Buddy: Daria

Hi! New journey, new school, new city, new life and.. new people. We often meet new people in our lives. It is an inevitable change. Please welcome my blog buddy Daria Pieczynska

What is blog buddy? It is a great opportunity to get feedback and to know new people at my university. It is way to inspiring, comparing and motivate each other. We can comment on our works and we can help to improve our works. It is fun.

The best way to know someone is to go to coffee. Unfortunately, Daria couldn’t go, but it didn’t stop me. I called her on video chat. What a great opportunity. I couldn’t go to coffee, but you can take yours and start to read my interview. Enjoy!

1. What is your name?

My name is Daria.

2. Where are you from?

I’m from Poland. I was born in Toruń, but my family now live next to it.

3. Why you decided to live in the UK?

I always wanted to live abroad. I think England is a good option for me because I didn’t want to study in the USA. I prefer couture in Europe, but in Poland, I don’t have enough possibilities. The side benefit is that I can use my English here.

4. You said you didn’t want to study in the USA. Did you live there?

Yes. I lived in the USA for a year. In Kansas. I was learning with cowboys. It was a very interesting experience. I get a scholarship and I went.

5. Now you live in Leicester in the UK, you lived in the USA for a year. What about your family? How did they deal with it?

My first trip to the USA was really bad for my parents. They worried a lot. But know it is something normal.

6. Do you miss Poland?

I miss food for sure. But I found a polish store here and I bought a pierogi.

7. Why you chose DMU?

I chose DMU because I don’t have polish matura. In fact, I’m at university and in high school at the same time. I’m going to pass the polish exams in May.

8. That is very brave. I know you are on International Year Zero Art and Design on DMU, but what is your main course?

I’m on Animation. It is my hobby.

9. Did you learn something similar before?

I attended animation classes since I was little.

10. Do you have different hobbies?

I’m a wave border. I think I am good at it. It is my hobby for five years now. I also am a beginner on surfing and I ski for 15 years. I like to draw and bake. I make beautiful cakes.

11. What was your reaction after coming to the UK?

I’m used to living abroad. I know it is a different culture here and I have to deal with this situation. I like Leicester and I have great roommates. I acclimatised quickly. I like my accommodation and I met a lot of people here. It was easier.

12. Do you like to live and study here so far?

I am delighted so far. I like to study here and I really enjoy student life.

THANK YOU DARIA :)

It was very nice talk. I think everyone should try to talk with your blog buddy face to face. It is fun and great way to relax.

  2. Lovely buddy post! You are a bit behind on the class and homework tasks though, so please make sure you catch up with the work for your sessions with Jurian!
