Sequential images: class task
Hi everyone! The first week on University. I met a lot of new people and I am slowly completing the introduction to all my modules. Not gonna lie, it is all a little bit confusing but I stay positive and I hope you too. We have pretty nice and interesting projects to do. Here is one of them.
SEQUENTIAL IMAGES. During one of my first class, we worked on creating our sequential images. But what are they? They are images that have a specific order and follow each other telling a story.
We knew a few artists and did some research about it. Let me introduce you Eadweard Muybridge and his photographs...
And Elliott Erwitt and his works. He is an American street photographer.
I like that when you look at these photos you feel like you are watching a story. It is a beautiful way to say something and catch moments in life.
After a little bit of research and new pieces of information, it is time for our sequential images.
First idea
At first moment I wanted to use my flatmates but it was hard to catch them so I started to think about things I have around. I don’t have a lot of things with me in my room so I decided to use things in my kitchen. I asked my friend for a help. Here are results..
Taking photos
Edit
After photoshoots and edit I ended with collage and my sequential images.

Don't forget to add the sources/references for the works included by Muybridge and Erwitt and they should have the titles of the works included too. What do you feel about your own final piece here? Are you happy with it? If not, what would you do differently? And give your own work a title! The planning is quite minimal here as is the commentary on how you edited the images.
ReplyDeleteI think you should add URLs to the images that you copied from the internet. Other than that I really like your planning process and your outcome. I think it is great that you did these pictures in black and white, especially in such a short period of time.
