Major Project Research: Sewing

 For my 3D project I will sew a mascot that will look like my brand character. However, I have never sew anything. That's why I had to look for few tutorials that would help me understand what I am doing. The first thing is to have tools. I won't use a machine, because I don't have it, however I did little research about it. I will use a needle instead. 

Tools:

• scissors - it is important to have a good scissors. As I found out it is hard to cut material clean and easily. 

• pins - are used to keep material together or pin up in desire position. I used them to pin two pieces together when I wanted to sew edges. 

• bobbins - it is a cylinder or cone holding thread. For my project I used black thread. 

• thread 

• fabric - for my project I used old, cotton shirt
• needles 

They are few types of stitches. I learned few of them. Stitch is a piece of thread sewn in material in a specific way. 

I learned stitches such as:

• back stitch
• who stitch
• running stitch

However, there are more of them. For my project I used 'running stitch'.
