Poster No. 4: Experimental
For my project I designed 5 posters advertising the movie invented by me. I used same colour palette to every poster, however with one of them I had more trouble.
On this poster you can see my great-grandmother herself. More of creating this process you can read here: poster-process.html.
I wanted this poster to focus more on the character. That is why I decided to keep background simple. Also I did not want to yellow colour to catch more attention than the character. Yellow is a very bright colour and in my opinion it would be distracting. However, I used this colour in every other poster from series. Here you can watch my struggling with 'how to add the full colour palette to this poster to keep it in same aesthetic'.
At first I wanted to add yellow colour to the title. However it was not consistent with the rest of the posters.
So I started to experiment with background anyway. I wanted to add just some kind of shape so I experimented with random shapes. I also thought that maybe I should change the whole background. So I even wanted to add some kind of the city to imitate Wroclaw or Warsaw.
It was hard to come up with something to look good, however I do not hate the last idea. It looks the best and it keeps this poster in same aesthetic like others. After a little bit of thinking I end up with idea to make thicker lines on a character to be more visible and to yellow not be distracting. I decided to keep the last version of the poster.
